THE CHALLENGE

In partnership with Wild in Art, LOROS Hospice ran one of the largest public arts events Leicester had ever seen. During the summer of 2025, 40 large elephant sculptures designed by local, national and international artists came to the city as part of a public art trail.
A truly unique event bringing together the whole region, including artists, schools, local business and the wider public.

The mammoth challenge for us included naming, branding and launching the event, before applying the identity to over 300 pieces of printed and digital collateral over a 12 month period.

THE SOLUTION

We came up with the name ‘Stomp Round Leicester’ which nicely reflected the art trail itself and the stampede of elephants coming to the city.

From our research, we knew the identity had to be multi-layered, both to appeal to the range of audience groups and to ensure it could flex for a year’s worth of activity. The logo was handcrafted to reflect the hand of all the artists involved, and the illustrated elephant became a cornerstone of the identity. But it didn’t end there. We created over 50 different illustrations and doodles that could work with photography and messaging to tie things together visually. It also gave us the opportunity to dial up the fun when it was needed.

TRUNK-FULL OF PERSONALITY

To engage with all the audience groups – from school children to business owners – we knew it was important to give the identity an ownable personality. So as well as all the visual elements we created a distinct brand voice full of puns and a trunk-full of personality. We could dial up the fun when it was needed or be more serious when it felt more appropriate.
